FAMILY:

I have four siblings, two sisters and two brothers.
Both sisters have been married.

My father is an accountant in a private firm.

My mother is house wife

PERSONAL INTEREST:

I BELIEVE THAT TEACHING IS VERY RESPACTABLE PROFESSION THAT’S WHY professionally a doctor but patiently. I am a teacher

GOALS:
IM NOT DOING A JOB for a sake of money. My intention is to educate most of the poor students who want to be educated but can not afford good education. For this sake I want good training which I can get through this program. I want to educate my community because I belong to that community where there is no value of education only they got primary & secondary education. They stopped their education & search a job.

EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION

I am a private school teacher .I teach in “j.m.a school”. It is a community-based school which i belong to (memon). .my school is in Karachi. It has 2 branches, i.e.; one share-e-liaqut and second one is on Siddiquabad. There are 600 students in Liaqatabad and 400 in Siddiquabad. Both of these schools are covering only 420 squares per metre. Most of the students are getting free of cost education. Whereas, rest of the students have to pay only a nominal fee of Rs. 500/- only. A total of 44 teachers have been hired to teach in both campuses. There are computer labs and laboratries recently established for the students. All subjects book &copies gives them free .students whose got 80 %.organization give them scholar ship.
It is important to mention over here that the community does not  accept any kind of  donations from other organizations. It’s the memon community who is wholy responsible for this work and always ready to support humanity.

NEEDS OF EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION:

My school is cover in very small area, that’s why there is no outside activity for students, small area should be necessary for the students .where student go for the play and take  assembly.

In my school, computer labs and laboratories recently established  for the students but chemicals and instruments are not sufficient for students .in one instrument 5 to 6 students work
together. Also shortage of computers. In sufficient chairs, in sufficient no of trained teachers

There is need to increase  salary of teachers in order to ensure that. In my school;most of the students work to supplement their family income or lively hood who are engage in work during school hours, it is necessary to introduce flexible school time tables. Conduct a meeting to highlight the importance of education for both girls and boys and encourage parents to send their children. Montessori department should be separated from the primary & secondary section because children read curiously & weeping ,playing etc that cause senior students disturb & they did not concentration in their studies.

NON-SIBI REFLECTION:

Non-sibi is a volunteer work. Professionally I am a homeopathic doctor but currently I am working as a teacher. I am not doing a job for the sake of money.  My school is a community base school which I belong to.  In our school most of the students are getting free of cost education.  My intention is to educate most of the poor students who want to be educated but cannot afford good education.
It is important to mention their memon community which I belong who is wholly responsible for this work & always ready to support humanity. I perform multiple tasks such as teaching as well as managing the school. I encourage the parents to send them to schools to continue their studies because in my community there is no value of education.

GOALS:
ACTIVITY-BASE CLASS:
My goal is to conduct a teacher training course in which participants will learn methods for increasing the amount of active learning time in the classroom. Topics include classroom management techniques; teaching roles and procedures; and handling discipline positively, quickly, and fairly.
Traditional Pakistani educational system is not beneficial for the students and this training will bring a great change to our traditional school education system. I came to know about latest technologies and different methods of teaching and can help teachers understand the psychological and pedagogical needs of their students. I will also help teachers create modern classroom management protocols in light of the latest education methods.
The ability to create and maintain an orderly, productive classroom environment is essential to effective teaching. There is more to effective teaching than classroom management, although well-run, stimulating, and task-oriented classrooms appear to be essential to learning. Effective classroom managers apply a systematic approach, one that requires preparation and planning.
In my school, teachers come to class and say “take out your book. Read line by line. Describe the paragraph and mark the question answer written on the board”.  This type of teaching is boring for students and their skill and creativity are not developed. It is important to change instruction from lectures to activity base.

OBJECTIVES:
Teachers will be able to:
  • teach cooperatively
  • provide a friendly learning environment
  • be able to develop interesting activities to teach their subjects
  • engage their students in different learning activities
  • think critically about their teaching
  • effective observation and monitoring skills
  • give effective directions
  • use effective listening & speaking skills
  • form quality questions
  • encourage students appropriately
PROCEDURE:
I will conduct teacher training workshops on four consecutive Saturdays. The Purpose of this workshop is to equip teachers with innovative classroom strategies. Each Saturday I will cover a different topic:
1st Saturday: Workshop about classroom management
I will explain the teachers by the presentation. How could they engage their students in classroom
With oral & visual presentation, I will discuss with teachers what the problem they face is
(Activity of jig sawing with teachers, as done by Ms. Christie Sweeney.)

  • What I am curious about (students ask questions)
